OUR STORY
RUFSKIN is currently celebrating 20 years since the brand was born in a small garage in South Park, San Diego, California.
Since 2002, RUFSKIN has become more of a lifestyle for its wearers, rather than being just another pair of jeans. The Southern California-based brand, which also includes underwear, swimwear, sportswear, leisurewear, and accessories, was created to enhance the individuality of the male form, while at the same time, it has redefined the concept of what sexy can look like. Essentially directed toward men, the concept of the brand focuses on the California Lifestyle. It is entirely designed and manufactured in Southern California.

Douglas and Hubert met in Paris, France while in the fashion business. Soon after they had eyes on the USA and later found California their home. With influences of the rugged West and the beaches of Brazil, RUFSKIN was born to fill a void in low waist sexy men's denim options at the time. The name RUFSKIN comes from casca-grossa, a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu term meaning “tough skin”.
The couple will be celebrating 32 years together this Fall.

Having the freedom to harness their creativity as their own clients is both rewarding and fun. Photographing their own ad campaigns and online product images is their “escape” from their daily lives. Both gents have always had attachment to the fashion business in some form or another; from previous jobs as a model, talent scouting and photography; these have all influenced their drive to create original photos that are sexy and inviting.
